Shafaqat special/inclusive school
The special school is one of the bench mark of our organization established in 1995 for physically, mentally, speech and hearing challenged children. The objective of the institution is to meet the unique needs of such children which otherwise is difficult to meet in the existing regular schools.

A physically challenged person can not be restored to a condition from where they can live independently and maximize to restore normal life without a comprehensive post health care management. For that reason, with 40 years of experience, we established this state of the art rehabilitation center. We have a fully equipped gymnasium and provision of CAM therapy, hydrotherapy etc.

In collaboration with International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC, GENEVA), Voluntary Medicare Society has established a prosthetic and orthotic center for persons with limb amputations. The center is fully equipped with modern gadgets, technology, using the best materials available in the international market. The patients are also provided with gait training before discharge.

A mental health unit was also established for people with various psycho-social issues. A team of psychiatrists and psychologists visit the center once a week to assess and treat the children and adults for various mental health issues. This unit also arranges for outreach camps to help to identify and provide support to the people in need.

Sports Club in VMS was established in 2015. Dozens of physically challenged individuals have not only participated in para-olympics but also have successfully competed outside our state of Jammu & Kashmir as well. Our wheelchair basketball team has produced players who have went on and got selected for national team.
LEARN MOREvisually impaired rehabilitation unit
It is run by trained visually impaired staff. The department provides mobility, ADLs, braille, computer training, caregiver training, early learning kits and ophthalmology consultations.
